Islands Of The Eternal Spring is Chimor's advertising slogan. Chimor presents itself in western media as a major tourist destination, and uses expensive advertising campaigns in magazines, newspapers, television and internet. The country presents itself as a tropical paradise, but without the burden of the tropics such as excessive heat and humidity. Vaccinations are not required for Chimor, diseases like malaria or yellow fever are not present in Chimor. Besides, Chimor has a rich variety in landscapes, from deserts to rainforests.

Since 1996 there were serious attempts to promote tourism. Foreign investors were attracted and large hotel complexes were built, especially in the vicinity of Jenófanes, Angulema and the volcanic island of Isla Tortuga. In other parts, such as Isla Cañete, Isla Nazca, and Lindavista (because the city itself, but especially because of the nearby ruins of the Chimu city Xicaman). Ecotourism is becoming more and more important. Unspoiled natural areas, such as national park Toromiro, Isla Mono and Isla Cañete, but also to wilderness areas on Isla Seca are increasingly popular among foreign tourists.

Inspired by the success of the Parador hotels in Spain, the Majestu hotel-chain was introduced. Majestu hotels are usually housed in special monuments such as palaces and haciendas, or newly designed buildings by renowned architects such as Philippe Starck. Often they are on special scenic locations.

Because Chimor has many islands, a new exclusive way of travel was introduced: island hopping with original totora rafts. These rafts are made of totora reeds, but larger, more luxurious and safer than the original Chimu version.
