Guelphian voters ratify FICT treaty

From Sunday Guelphian, Sunday, 23 June 2013

In an overwhelming endorsement of the Forum for International Cooperation and Trade (FICT), voters have approved the accession of Guelphia to the Ísðor Treaty. With final numbers now tallied, 62.58% of voters approved the treaty, clearing the way for the King to give his assent to the treaty in the coming days. Voter turnout was a respectable 90.65%, indicating the widespread approval of the treaty and effective campaign by sides to encourage a large turnout.

It is expected that an extraordinary meeting of the Executive Council will be held on Monday to allow His Majesty to formally give his assent, allowing Guelphia to formally take its place in FICT in the coming days.
