Île de Romanhe is a republic with a president as head of state (also called Azîruque d`Île de Romanhe or First of Île de Romanhe).

  • Current president: Guimarc Bonamy (FS). Presidential elections every 7th year.
  • Current Prime Minister: Guillaume Keztil-Surt (URIR)
  • Current minister of Foreign Affairs: François Thémarel-Kernès (FKR)
  • Parliament: Azemble Romanhe (65 members who are chosen every 4th year)
  • Main political parties: Floq Naxlopa d`Île de Romanhe (FNIR, nationalistic party), Union Républicaine d`Île de Romaine (URIR, liberal), Floq Kamzher Romanhe (FKR, peoples party), Floq Socialiste (FS, socialist party), Parti pour le Progrès du Peuple (PPP)
  • FNIR was the ruling party from 1983 to 2005 and from 2009 to 2011. From 2005 to 2009 the government was a coalition of URIR and FS and from 2011 a three party coalition, FNIR, URIR and FKR. In 2014 the government resigned, and URIR and FKR formed the new government. After the elections of 2015, URIR and FKR again formed the government, with support of PPP.
