winter less severe than last year, but risk of floods remains
(March 1) - This winter the amount of snow is slightly larger than average, but it looks like the worst has past and spring will start early this year. Last year, the amount of snow was double the average leading to disastrous floods in April. During summer, many dikes and canals were improved, and it is expected that this year's snow will melt without any serious problems, but still there is a small risk of floods in parts of Cekentyryŋ.
election season started
(February 4) - Last weekend, most political parties held their yearly conferences, marking the start of the election season. District council (kĭuŋ-xŭei) elections will be helt on April 7. The last few elections showed a gradual loss op support for the centrist party MPP, and gains for the regional parties. It is expected that this trend will continue, but that there will not be any major changes.
